Advancing Aging at Home, One Home at a Time.
Where It Began.
Happy Homes began with something deeply personal: witnessing how aging can change the lives of the people who once seemed strongest, most independent, and most capable of carrying everyone else.
Our founder’s paternal grandfather, George Heath, immigrated to Canada from Jamaica in the 1960s. He built a life, raised a family, and contributed to the construction of the CN Tower- becoming part of the generation that helped shape the communities many of us call home today. Years later, after experiencing a stroke, the realities of aging, mobility, and changing independence became much more immediate.
Our founder’s maternal grandfather, Son Ma, came to Canada after war in Vietnam and also built a new life here. Today, as a wheelchair user, his experience has offered another close perspective on how mobility, accessibility, and the home environment can shape a person’s ability to remain independent.
These experiences made aging in place more than an idea. They showed how quickly a familiar home can become difficult to navigate, how much families can be asked to carry, and how important it is to have the right support before a situation becomes a crisis.
Happy Homes Community Solutions grew from that understanding.
The people who spent their lives building homes, families, communities, and futures deserve the opportunity to age with dignity, independence, choice, and the support to remain connected to the places they call home.
